Testing. Testing. One. Two.
This week marks the beginning of a slew of full-band solo dates to promote my awesomely-titled album, “Rhett Miller”, out now on Shout!Factory.
The Serial Lady Killers will accompany me. They are Tommy Borscheid (guitar), Greg Beshers (bass), and Angela Webster (drums). This is the same band that toured behind The Believer with me. The new band name is a reference to a lyric from a song I recorded with Old 97’s for our album Too Far To Care. The lyric goes, “my name’s Stewart Ransom Miller/I’m a serial lady killer”. That is, in fact, my legal name.
On these full-band dates, we will be playing a lot of the new record and a mix of solo material and Old 97’s songs. It’s a fun set. Definitely rock and roll.
The SLK and I will pack in as many dates as we can between now and when I leave for Europe. I’ll be doing a month in Scandanavia and the British Isles, playing solo acoustic, opening for the greatness that is Steve Earle.
I probably won’t be able to hit the West Coast with the Serial Lady Killers until January, so hold tight. And put those darn fires out, y’all.
I am hooked into Twitter intraveneously, so if you need a question answered, that’s the way to reach me. My handle is, unsurprisingly, @RhettMiller.

Rhett Miller's brand new, self-titled album is now available for purchase
YAY! There’s a Chicago stop. And Park West, to boot. That’s a great venue — the acoustics are great. The only problem is, they tend to pack the floor with tables and chairs, so dancing/rocking out can be quite limited.
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen you live. I was just going through all my ticket stubs the other day, and I found an old ticket stub from a concert you played at the Abbey accompanied by an El card I had you sign. Fun.
Can’t wait. Best, Jocelyn
totally totally psyched to hear that you are touring with this band again! that last full band solo tour with them was absolutely fantastic.
screw europe (although steve earle is pretty cool). When you/SLK coming to Boston?
Holding my breath until January.
Enjoy Europe.
Rhett,
Can’t wait to see you across the pond. Thought you might be interested in this essay which describes your recent work in the context of the Beardcore movement.

Hi Rhett,
Don’t know how to contact you to ask if you would consider playing at the Center for Creative Education in Stone Ridge. I hear you are local. Check out our site and let me know. We have had 20 great shows at the center.
Thanks,

Yo Rhett,
How are you doing? We just bought tickets to you show in Copenhagen. Me and my pal are really excited to finally seeing you in europe!
We are big fans of the 97’s and your solo project! For this show we need to drive over 850km (about 530 miles), so we where wondering if it’s possible to grab a beer before or after show!
We would really like to!
We hope you have a great time in Europe and hope to see you at the show!
Stay Classy!
Greetings,

I saw Rhett Miller & Serial Lady Killers Sept 17th and was blown away and glowing for days afterward. My husband (who had introduced my to Old 97’s 10 years ago) was starting to get a little touchy because I kept playing the CD’s and smiling to myself. It’s funny because I think he was jealous. One of the great things about Rhett’s lyrics is that while describing something like suicidal thoughts he can make it funny. His turn of phrase is so witty that a song to me is like having a great conversation with your funniest friend. The love songs break my heart a little. Great show, I will never miss another in this area. Hope you all are well.
Can’t wait to see ya on the Left Coast!! Have a great time in Europe
can’t wait to see you in Austin, Rhett. Antone’s is the perfect spot.
What a freaked out day.
That’s very blog… so, I say “serial lady kill” often, please. I don’t care about it. Maybe some new portraits… effects are neato.
… … … watch your idea, deal .. . … . . .
Hey Rhett,
I just thought i’d drop you a line to say how much I enjoyed your set in Kings Lynn, UK last night (7th Nov). I was hoping to pick up a CD during the interval and maybe get it signed whilst you were in the foyer. No such luck; all sold out by the time I got there.
I’m sure it will make a lovely edition to my rather eclectic CD collection, and you did make us all smile with your attempt to “limit the number of F-bombs” until one of the locals a few rows back told you that you could get away with saying whatever you liked
Good luck with Ireland.
Rhett,
It’s Eugene Bogan dude. Be brave and get in touch with me one day. I would love to know what you are up to these days. You should be able to get my email from this blog site or get in touch with Alec Bourgeois at Dischord Records and tell him you need to get in touch with me.

Hello there!
Is there any way I can get the two songs you recorded with Waylon Jennings?
Thank you very much,
Sturla, Norway
Hey Rhett,
I have a killer idea for a really clever song. Send me an email and I will send you the idea, with any legal disclosure you need. Have been a big fan of the Old 97s for a while.
