This week marks the beginning of a slew of full-band solo dates to promote my awesomely-titled album, “Rhett Miller”, out now on Shout!Factory.
The Serial Lady Killers will accompany me. They are Tommy Borscheid (guitar), Greg Beshers (bass), and Angela Webster (drums). This is the same band that toured behind The Believer with me. The new band name is a reference to a lyric from a song I recorded with Old 97′s for our album Too Far To Care. The lyric goes, “my name’s Stewart Ransom Miller/I’m a serial lady killer”. That is, in fact, my legal name.
On these full-band dates, we will be playing a lot of the new record and a mix of solo material and Old 97′s songs. It’s a fun set. Definitely rock and roll.
The SLK and I will pack in as many dates as we can between now and when I leave for Europe. I’ll be doing a month in Scandanavia and the British Isles, playing solo acoustic, opening for the greatness that is Steve Earle.
I probably won’t be able to hit the West Coast with the Serial Lady Killers until January, so hold tight. And put those darn fires out, y’all.
